Rodada entre Isla Reunión y Mâcon, Lèv la tèt dann fénwar teje una historia de silencio, sueños oscuros, dolor misterioso y violencia muda. El silencio. El de un padre que nunca ha hablado de los traumas del exilio y la llegada a la Francia metropolitana. El dolor. El dolor que comparten padre e hija, en el centro del cuerpo, sin poder deshacerse de él. La violencia. La violencia de la política migratoria francesa de los años 1960-1980 llevada a cabo por los Bumidom.

Retracing the steps of her ancestors, questioning her identity through her father’s story, this is the delicate task that Erika Etangsalé sets herself in her first feature film. Shot between Reunion Island and Mâcon, Lèv la tèt dann fénwar weaves a story of silence, dark dreams, mysterious pain and mute violence. Silence. That of a father who has never spoken of the traumas of exile and the arrival in metropolitan France. The pain. The pain that father and daughter share, in the center of the body, unable to get rid of it. The violence. The violence of the French migration policy of the 1960s-1980s carried out by the Bumidom family.

Run huye; acaba de asesinar al Primer ministro de su país. Tuvo que apropiarse del rostro y la ropa de un vagabundo loco. Recuerda momentos de su existencia; su niñez con el maestro Tourou, cuando soñaba con ser hacedor de lluvia, sus aventuras con la ávida Gladys y su pasado en las milicias como joven patriota, en medio de un conflicto político y militar en Costa de Marfil. Run no eligió ninguna de esas vidas,cada vez le cayeron encima cuando huía de una anterior. Por eso le llaman Run.

Run is on the run; he has just assassinated the Prime Minister of his country. He had to appropriate the face and clothes of a mad vagabond. He recalls moments of his existence; his childhood with Master Tourou, when he dreamed of being a rainmaker, his adventures with the avid Gladys and his past in the militias as a young patriot, in the midst of a political and military conflict in Ivory Coast. Run did not choose any of those lives, each time they fell on him as he fled from a previous one. That’s why they call him Run.

Matar, un pescador senegalés, encuentra en el mar el pasaporte de un belga de origen africano. Decide utilizarlo y se propone parecerse a él. Con el paso de los días, el aspecto del pescador cambia. Se vuelve cada vez más enigmático a los ojos de su esposa Nafi.

Matar, a Senegalese fisherman, finds in the sea the passport of a Belgian of African origin. He decides to use it and sets out to look like him. As the days go by, the fisherman’s appearance changes. He becomes more and more enigmatic in the eyes of his wife Nafi.
