Alliance Française Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico European Film Festival proudly announce the return of Festinema Junior, our signature French Film Festival for Youth, to the silver screen this November. For this special 9th edition, UBS joins as the program’s featured sponsor.

Presenting high quality French cinema to local schools at no cost, Festinema Junior aims to inspire and educate young audiences, offering a broader vision of the world and other cultures.

With its films provided by the Institut Français, Festinema Junior presentations in Puerto Rico feature subtitles in Spanish for the benefit of local audiences. In addition, teachers from participating schools also receive digital workbooks with educational activities, which were developed in collaboration with the Alliance Française of Paris-Île de France and available in French, English, and Spanish.

SINOPSIS

Chien Pourri es un perro parisino, ingenuo y apasionado. Con Chaplapla, su fiel compañero de alcantarilla, Chien Pourri recorre las calles de París. No importa qué desastres cause, cae siempre de pie. Tanto es así que otros perros están comenzando a encontrarlo sospechoso. Un programa de cinco cortometrajes para seguir las locas aventuras de Chien Pourri y sus amigos y presentar la poesía de París a los más pequeños.
 
Chien Pourri is a naïve and filthy dog who lives in a Parisian trash can with Chaplapla, his faithful feline friend. Though Chien Pourri suffers one misadventure after another, he always manages to land on his four paws. In this film, based upon the eponymous best-selling graphic novel, Chien Pourri finds himself in a series of sticky situations. Both adults and children will discover Paris anew from a dog’s eye level in this charming quadrupedal adventure.

Festinema Junior 2022 Presented by UBS returns to PREFF’s home of Fine Arts Miramar in San Juan this November. On this year’s program are three vibrant French films, each targeting different age groups. Screenings will be held mid-morning at Fine Arts Miramar. Previous knowledge of French is not necessary to participate in Festinema Junior.

Interested schools should fill out our form in Spanish. Our staff will reply to submissions within one week. Educational materials will supplied prior to the screening.

Una Razón Brillante: El Arte de Convencer

14 – 18 años

This edition of Festinema Junior 2022 Presented by UBS will present a French film for children during the Festival’s public programming at Fine Arts Miramar. Information on the film and tickets for the free screening will be published, along with the Festival’s official film selections, mid-October 2022. Stay tuned!

Additional Screenings

Festinema Junior screenings will be tentatively offered in conjunction with the Festival’s Cine Gira (Film Tour) program, which presents free screenings to communities around Puerto Rico. The next Cine Gira will begin in mid-November 2022. Further details will be published this fall.
